WALTER F. SCANLON
PhD, MBA, MAC, CASAC, SAP, CEAP
Family and Workplace Interventionist

Walter Scanlon is a program and workplace consultant with over twenty-five years experience in the fields of chemical dependency treatment and employee assistance programming. He is a family and workplace interventionist and trains professionals in the development and application of intervention skills.

Walter Scanlon has conducted seminars, workshops, and lectures for corporations, treatment programs, professional associations and community groups. He has appeared as a guest speaker on network radio and television special-interest programs and serves as a professional consultant to print media.

Walter Scanlon is an adjunct professor at Marymount Manhattan College and a frequent guest lecturer at other universities. He is author of three books, the latest titles include Wiley Concise Guides to Mental Health Disorders: Substance Use Disorders (2006) and  ALCOHOLISM and DRUG ABUSE in the WORKPLACE: Managing Care and Costs Through Employee Assistance Programs (1991), and has published widely in related areas. These areas include brief therapy, structured intervention, marketing health care services, employee assistance programming and chemical dependency treatment.

Walter Scanlon holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD, Psychology) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is a nationally certified Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), a New York State Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). Walter Scanlon has offices in New York City.
